In the next few months, several updates will include in-house volunteers and so we thought it would be appropriate to let each of them introduce themselves. And so, without further a do here they are:
Hi my name is Holly and I'm from England. Before coming to Colombia, I was volunteering in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for three months.
I taught in a high school in Mexico for four years and later spent six years doing health promotion and youth work (about sexual health / tennage pregnancy) with young people in England. I enjoy speaking Spanish and travelling.
Hola! My name is Gabrielle, I am from Sidney Australia and travelling through South America for 6months. I came to Colombia to see its beauty and immerse myself in a new culture. I thought the best way to do so was to continue studying spanish while volunteering. I also feel it's a great way for me to give back.
Nicholas has been volunteering with the organization for a month. He is a photographer by trade and during his time with us, he has been able to work at the Botanical Garden and photograph over a thousand species for the creation of a catalog. He is originally from Australia; has lived in Japan for 10 years, Thailand for 6 years and traveled the world.
Hola, my name is Jesse Aiton. I'm from California, USA. I work in systems administration.
I like American football, skateboarding, traveling, volunteering and overeating.
Hi, My name is Max, and I am a 20 year old, anthropology student from London, England. I enjoy football, making music and traveling, specifically in Latin America. Another one of my passions passion is taking photographs. I decided to volunteer at Manos Amigas because I wanted to do something positive and make a difference. As an anthropology student I also find the opportunity to observe a different culture fascinating.
Hello, my name is Karla. I am from CA, USA and originally from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I'm a corporate marketing/sales professional taking a small break from work and traveling for a year. I always wanted an alternative way of traveling --one that will give me the opportunity to experience a country's culture, explore its beauty and give back. I've found volunteering to be the most gratifying. I enjoy photography, the outdoors, running, reading, dancing and (of course) travel.
