One Hundred Years From Now...

"One Hundred years from now
it will not matter what kind of house you lived in...
what kind of car you drove... what your bank balance was...
what will matter is, that you were important in the life of a child,
a mother, a lonely senior
and that you helped make a difference in their future
and that of their families."

--Adapted from a quote by Forest Witcraft

Welcome to Let's Go Volunteer and Manos Amigas Association's first blog post.  We are really excited to finally get on the wagon of blogging and we hope that through it we can keep you updated on recent happenings, future events and some of the daily and fun activities that take place within each of our grassroot programs.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with who we are, Let's Go Volunteers is a volunteer program designed to aid staff resources for Manos Amigas, a local Colombian non-profit organization dedicated to providing food, training and educational resources to families living under extreme levels of poverty.  Those who choose to volunteer with us help alleviate the work load for our limited staff assisting with the serving of our daily lunch, tutoring, English classes and any other activities as needed.

If you would like to read more about Manos Amigas, please visit our ''About us''.  To learn more about how you can get involve, please visit our website at:  Let's Go Volunteer

We hope you enjoy our first post.  We thank you for taking the time to read and look forward to keeping you updated.  Suggestions and comments are always welcome and highly encouraged.
